Description of service
I have two large and very hairy dogs of the arctic type breed that shed very heavily. The brushing process is very tiring to me as well as to them. In shopping around for grooming options, I have found that brushing services run about $17.00 an hour. At this price I didn't get it done as often as I should have. I just ran the vacuum more often. Purely by accident, I found out that one of the major pet store chains uses a process that employs a high velocity blower to remove probably 90 percent of the loose hair and undercoat, leaving very little brushing for them to do.And they do this in 15 minutes for $5.00.
Review of Service
This is one of the best things I've stumbled across in a long time. It saves a lot of strain on my back, and gets it over quickly for the dogs too. However, the dogs are not crazy about the noise of the dryer. Some dogs might get extremely fractious during the process.
Tips
If this is something that you would like to start with your dog, I would recommend that you start acclimating him to the sound and feel of the blower at home, by using your hair dryer on an air only setting.
