the Price of Dog Grooming at a Chain Pet Store

Had my dog washed and groomed at local pet store. This included bathing, clipping (not a full clip) nail clipping, ear cleaning, and all areas of grooming. The service was higher than normal but my dog is very large so it is understandable that it would cost more. It probably took 2 groomers to at least bathe him.

i feel the price was acceptable. For such a large dog, it is hard to find a place to groom him. As the weather was extremely cold, it had to be done in a warm area. The groomers, I feel were somewhat intimidated by his size. This in turn made him nervous so I had to stay with for awhile. The bathing and the combing went well but when it came to cutting his nails, they cut way too short and it started bleeding. Needless to say it went downhill from there. Luckily I returned and got him out. The groomers should be aware of cutting nails so close. The dogs never seem to forget it and now I can barely get near him with clippers. All in all they did a good job.

It would be a good idea to take your pet to meet the groomer first, let the animal smell around and they come back at another time for the actual grooming. Most places will let you do this espcially in the case of a large dog to whom they could have problems.
