Description of service
I received a breast reduction, as well as a reshaping of the areola. The price included an anesthesia fee, a fee for the cost surgery itself, and a surgeon fee. I also had to get the stitching re-closed, which was no extra cost.
Review of Service
After getting home, I noticed that some of the internal stitching was sticking out and coming undone. I called to check if this was normal because I was starting to get really worried. When I called in, they were very short with me and told me to wait until my follow-up visit to check it out. It got worse over the next week, and the entire stitching began coming undone. When I went in for my follow-up, my doctor was out of town on vacation, so another doctor did my follow-up. He looked once at it, said that it was normal, and sent me home. I went back two weeks later, and they told me that I would have to get another out-patient procedure to close up the stitching. They also told me that it was going to scar a lot, which it did. I was very unhappy about the service because I felt like I was being ignored and put-off. I was relieved to hear that they could fix the stitching, and I am glad that they did fix it without further payment or hassle. I do not think that the service was a good value for the price.
Tips
I was very unhappy about my whole experience with this service. The best advice I can give is always get a second opinion. I wish I would have taken the time to look around before I went with one doctor. Also, if problems ever arise, even if they seem small, do not take no for an answer and do not let them ignore you. Once you are their patient, they have an obligation to make sure that you are healing well. Also, before getting a breast reduction, carefully go over all the possible complications. Surgery is serious; it should never be taken lightly.
