Description of service
I chose to go to the cleaner that I use on a regular basis to have the dress cleaned that I wore in my friend's wedding as one of her bridesmaids. The dress was dry cleaned, steamed, and pressed.
Review of Service
I was not fond of this dress in any way, so absorbing the cost of cleaning it was not something I was really looking forward to doing. Additionally, I knew that I would never wear it again, so paying to have it cleaned did not top my list. When I got the bill of $30.00, I was flabbergasted!! I had failed to ask how much it would be in advance, so even though I am not sure what I was expecting, I was still very surprised. As far as the job done by the dry cleaner, I have to say I was very satisfied. They did a really good job with the dress, and it was in almost better condition as far as being pressed than it was when I got it originally from the tailor!
Tips
I think my best advice would be to make sure you are aware of the cost associated with having a formal dress being cleaned professionally -- espeically if it is not something you will use again in the future. If it is not, and you have no one that is interested in taking it, I would forego the process altogether. However, if it something that you can re-sell or use again in the future, I would recommend the sevice, as my dress was returned to me in pristine condition!
