Review of Service
My tux was a gift at my wedding, oh, years ago. It was a ludicrously expensive bit of tailoring and at first I actually went out of my way to go to events where I'd have to wear it. I only wear the tux once in a while, now. Maybe every year or two. And being that it's wool and that we have moths here in Arizona, I get it dry cleaned whenever I have to put it back in storage.
I've never really gotten it dirty, so I can't speak on the dry cleaner's skills of getting stains out of this particular garment, but they've done good by me in the past.
Tips
Depending on the clothes, renting formal wear can be less expensive than maintaining the stuff you own. Fortunately for men styles of formal wear don't change much over the years, but unfortunately bodies do. If all you're after is a tux for a wedding or three, rent it when you need it. It'll save you not only the cost of maintenance, but the cost of the tux as well. And also the effort of staying thin enough to fit in the tux.
Dry cleaning kills and repels moths and moth larvae. So if you plan on putting natural fiber blankets or clothes in storage for a season or three, getting them dry cleaned before they're stored will keep them from being destroyed by
