Description of service
Dent removal. The car door was badly dented inward. There were creases in the metal that affected the signature pin striping paint job outlining the entire car.The shop had the task of not only repairing or replacing the door to properly fit the frame, but also to ensure that the paint job matched the rest of the vehicle, including reconstructing the pin stripe put on by the dealership when the car was originally purchased.
Review of Service
When discovering that my car had been victim to a hit and run while I was in a shop, needless to say I was quite upset. Knowing that I had a $200 deduct able, I wanted to find a place that was not only within my budget, but would also do the quality work that would be needed to completely fix the door. It's one thing to cover it up, but when it comes to body work, you have to think that it is in the long run an investment in your car's future worth. I did some research and located a body shop that would do an estimate fro free. Also, they thankfully were approved by my insurance company, so I knew that if the work was estimated to be over the deduct able limit, that it wouldn't have to come out of my own pocket. The shop was friendly and professional. They explained that their initial fear was that I had poly carbonate door panels, which would have meant that they would have to replace the entire door, not being able to paint on plastic. Fortunately, my car had been built right before Saturn started placing these "dent resistant doors" on their vehicles. They not only did the work magnificently, but they also did it in a timely manor. I had my vehicle back within a day. Looking good as new, including the signature pin stripe and paint job!
Tips
Always shop around before making the decision to go with a particular shop. Also, make sure that if you do in fact have a deductible, that your insurance is accepted by the shop that you decide to go with.
