Description of service
My door was damaged beyound repair when a vehicle pulled out from a parking lot and into my door as I was travelling down the road. The rearview mirror was also damaged beyond repair. The door is fiberglass.
Review of Service
The quality of service was average. The door had to be replaced along with the window, all internals swapped over and reinstalled. Upon pickup of the car, I noticed a few odd things:
1. The window was not retinted as was the original one. I had to take the vehicle, get the window tinted and get reimbursed by the body shop.
2. The trim that keeps water from entering the door along the bottom of the window was not securely fastened to the door and had to be manipulated to resolve.
3. The locking mechanism did not work properly. It would hang upon engaging the electronic locks. It would not lock or unlock itself; it took manual effort to operate.
The paint itself was very good. Clearcoat was used to give a factory finish and the color matched perfectly.
Tips
Check the door after work is done for look, fit and operation. Do it immediately before you leave and arrange finish-up work at that time. Don't be afraid to speak up. Most body repair jobs are not completed perfectly the first time around and the body shop knows this.
