Description of service
When my wife left the local supermarket she noticed that there was a sizable dent in the passenger's side rear door. Unfortunately no one saw anything, or left a note, so we were on our own to repair it. As the cost of the repair after we got a few estimates was less than our deductible we did it without going through insurance. The cost involved covers banging out the dent from the door, and repainting the door with a matched color.
Review of Service
The auto body shop we used informed us that if we dropped the car off on a Tuesday night, it would be ready on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that was not the case, as the car did not end up being ready until Saturday, which was a major inconvenience for us. While they acted apologetic, they did not offer to give us a loaner or reimburse us for the cost of a loaner car, which I felt was bad business on their part. However, once the work was finally completed it did look great, and you could not tell that there had ever been any damage.
Tips
Be sure to understand your auto body shop's policy on missing the deadline that they give you, and what your rights are if they miss it.
