Description of service
I took my puppy to the vet during clinic hours (where the vet offers services at a reduced fee and does not charge for an office visit fee). I took my 13 week old puppy to get his second series of vaccinations and for a general examination.
Review of Service
Even though I visited during clinic hours, we were called back after only a couple of minutes. The vet actually came in and examined the puppy - it was not just a vet tech looking him over and administering the shot. The vet told me to ask him any questions that I wanted to, and was also upfront and honest about what services I really needed, what was good to get but not necessary, and those that were not necessary at all. He was not trying to just sell me something and take advantage of me.
Tips
Check with your local animal shelter to see if there are any vets around you that offer low-cost or reduced-fee services. If there are none available, ask for references from other pet owners or call around and compare prices. Also, I advise doing your homework before you purchase a pet to see what can be expected as far as routine and preventative care for your pet. Ask questions as to the side-effects of vaccinations and anything else that you may be having issues with - after all, you are paying for a service. You might as well take advantage to cover anything you are concerned about while you are there!
