the Price of Health Insurance from COBRA

I am currently on Cobra from when my job was done away with. I have epilepsy so it isn't easy at all to find insurance that doesn't rob you completely. I pay about four hundred dollars a month to have my insurance just for me. My family isn't covered under this.

I called many different insurance companies to find something that would help me out. I was either turned away completely or the cost was well over one thousand dollars a month. I am not rich by any means so who can afford that much for something so important. I can't believe it costs so much.

I have a very bad opinion on insurance. Like I said before I have epilepsy so I definetly need health insurance as well as a prescription plan. My medicine without insurance would cost over three hundred dollars a month. I don't understand why something that everyone needs is so expensive. It just doesn't make any sense to me at all

I don't understand how you can be turned down when you have a pre-existing conditon. If your completely healthy you could find out that you have something wrong the day after you get insurance. How can this be legal? Insurance is one of the most important things to have.

If you get married make sure your spouse puts you on their insurance within the given time. Don't wait if you have insurance. When I lost my job, my husband had never put me on his insurance because I had really good insurance. His insurance company wouldn't cover me because he never put me on and I have a pre-existing condition. I he would have done it after we got married then it would have been fine.
