Description of service
We had PPO coverage for a family of three - Two adults in their mid-twenties and an infant. It was 80% coverage in- network, 50% out of network. It had a $500 deductible. Co pays were $20 for office visit, $20 to see a specialist and $100 for ER or Urgent Care Center and $5-$50 prescriptions.
Review of Service
We actually did not have to use it during the time we paid. We quickly got new insurance through my husband's new employer. It would have been the same insurance as we'd had though and it was fair. Their network seemed to be pretty small and their listings were slightly deceiving, so you would think that something would be covered and then it would be deemed "out of network." It was pretty highly priced, I thought for young, healthy people.
Tips
You should take your time to look around. I think we overpaid by quite a bit, and there are temporary insurance companies you can find online that can give a better deal than what we paid by far. In general, I am not sure that COBRA is that great of a deal at all - but if you have a hard time getting covered for whatever reason, it may be the only way to go.
