Description of service
I paid 50.00 for a college student to come to my home and set up my new computer for me. She put the components together, made sure everything was plugged in and working fine, then she hooked up my cable internet service and got that ready to go. She loaded a virus protection and security program I had bought. She also recommended some free software off the internet and downloaded it for me. Then she made sure the computer settings would allow the updates from the web based software. She also set up the automatic updates and other tasks for the computer to do, and set up my screen saver, wallpaper and things like that.
Review of Service
Excellent service! This girl was very smart and knowledgeable about computers. She explained what she was doing while she did it and I learned a lot from her. She was very quick setting everything up. The only thing that took a little time was downloading and adjusting settings. She worked for about one and a half hours. She made me aware of free software I did not even know about, so that was very helpful.
Tips
Get a referral! Lots of people say they know how to do these tasks, but not everyone can do them well. (I had a previous bad experiance). Make sure you have all the programs, discs, hardware, cables and that stuff before the person arrives. Have a good idea of what you are going to be doing with your computer so you can tell the person who sets you up and they can suggest configurations or programs that will make your computer run better and more efficiently for the tasks you do, they can personalize it for you. Ask if the cost includes a follow up call or visit. Ask if they give a guarantee that you will be happy with the way your computer runs.
