the Price of French Lessons

My children took French lessons with a teacher at their school who offered lessons as an after school program. The cost was 10.00 per half hour lesson. Students could opt to pay another $20 to purchase a video made for home viewing that would help kids to absorb the information learned it class.

We were very happy with the quality of service provided. While our children's teacher was not a native French speaker, she was married to a French man and had spent a lot of time in France. She was an excellent resource for our children. Additionally, the video she provided (which was produced by her and her husband) was a great tool and very entertaining for our children. Perhaps the highlight of the class for our kids was getting to sing French songs learned in class for the production of a cd.

It is important to choose language teachers carefully. I think this is especially true for parents of young children who may not be able to express how well the class is working for them. Locating a teacher through your child's school or another trusted child-friendly resource is probably the best way to find a great teacher.
