the service was great. The repairman actually showed up when he said he would, and was prepared to fix our upright freezer. It is a dinosaur, and is at least half a century old, and we had no idea if it would work or not when attempting to repair. The repairman promised no charge if he didn't think he could fix it, as well as haul away for a small price if we wanted him to dispose of it for us. All the monster needed was a freon recharge, and it is humming away happily in our garage once again, hopefully for another half century!

See if it is even worth the cost to try to repair a deep freezer. Sometimes it is cheaper to just buy a new one than it is to have it fixed. If it is just needing freon, then usually it is pretty inexpensive to keep the freezer running. If it needs more than that, it may be worth it to toss the freezer and replace it with a newer model, which is also more energy efficient than the old freezers.
