Description of service
We moved into our home two years ago. The home was eight years old and we had a one year warranty on the appliances and other items, per the standard home warranty purchased at settlement.
After two years of living in the home, the water heater started to leak and we contacted a local plumber. He repaced the heater at a cost of $585 for parts and labor.
Review of Service
The service which we received was fair considering the work involved in removing the defective heater and installing a new heater. This also included the disposal of the old heater.
When replacing such an appliance we were concerned about damage in the garage wall since there was little space in which to work. He was careful, neat and cleaned up any water and waste completely before leaving.
I have no negatives to report about the service. He arrived on time and was efficient and careful.
Tips
If someone is seeking to have an appliance repaired or replaced it is of the highest importance to to choose the right service. Ask neighbors, co-workers, and then check with the BBB if it is a major item such as an air conditioning system.
If possible, get a written estimate for both labor and parts. I didn't feel that a written estimate was needed
in my situation, sinced it was well in line with other estimates.
Make sure that the old parts will be removed from your property as pat of the agreement. City trash willnot ususally take such items as water heaters.
