Description of service
My Subaru developed a problem where the ABS light would go on. Sometimes it happened after I'd been driving the car for a while, other times, right after I started it. It was sometimes accompanied by a pulsing in the brake pedal. I took it into a shop to have them diagnose and fix the problem.
Review of Service
I was expecting that this might be an expensive repair, but I got out for less than I thought. It turned out that I had a defective relay, which they were able to find when they hooked it up to their analyzer. They also checked the condition of my brakes and told me that they were in good shape and didn't need to be repaired for another 10-15,000 miles. The shop I went to was run by a mechanic who formerly worked at a Subaru dealership and had since started his own shop, and I was impressed enough that I think I'll take it back.
Tips
Subarus seem like they're a little different than other cars, so it's a good idea to find a shop that's familiar with working on them and has the tools and diagnostic equipment to easily figure out what's wrong.
