Description of service
After a somewhat minor accident I had a dented front drivers side wheel on my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT. The service included a replacement of the dented wheel, and remounting of the tire, and finally having the entire assembly balanced and mounted.
Review of Service
The service was excellent. The local dealer had a cost estimate within a few hours after taking delivery of the car and the final cost was spot on with their estimate. During the course of the service the dealer also rotated the tires for no additional charge.
There was one minor hiccup during this particular incident: I made it very clear to the dealership that I absolutely had to have the car back and functioning @ 100% by a certain date. The dealer did have to call to request permission to have the wheel shipped overnight for an additional cost of $20.00. I would have preferred that he simply do what was necessary to have the car running by the date specified, however given today's climate I suppose that the call was necessary.
Tips
The obvious tip would be to watch where you're going so that you don't end up in a situation like mine. Otherwise I think that it's important to have a relationship with your local garage. I've been taking my car to this garage since the day that it rolled off lot. The service manager and I are friendly and he knows me by name. I'd like to think that this basic relationship was helpful in getting my repair expedited over others and in the fair price and free tire rotation that I received while the car was in the shop.
