Description of service
I stayed at a four star hotel recently and had the hotel staff take care of my dry cleaning. I had them dry clean and press a shirt, a pair of pants and a tie. I left my items in a bag, with a ticket I filled out, on my bed and the outfit was clean and back in my room by the end of the day. The total cost for the service was $27.50. I usually tip my dry cleaner, but I didn't know who to tip in this situation, so I didn't leave a tip.
Review of Service
The service was great, I only had to fill out a card which stated what I wanted done. The rest was all done by the hotel staff. I was appaled by the price to have this done, but not surprised because the prices were on the ticket I had to fill out. Overall it's a good service if you are out of town, but my local dry cleaner back home would have charged by less than half of what the hotel paid.
Tips
If you are out of town, and have the time, try looking in the phone book for a dry cleaner near by, as the hotel will charge you an arm and a leg to do it. If you're in your home town, call around to different places and see what they charge to get a feel on what a good deal is.
