the Price of Swing Dance Lessons

Each lesson lasted sixty Minutes. We started with swing dance basics. I learned different turns and tricks and the proper way to lead them. Then we advanced to more difficult dances like Lindy hop and balboa. The lessons cost forty dollars for each sixty minute period. The instructor was willing to teach more couples simultaneously and reduce the price per individual. One couple was forty dollars for each hour. If two couples were being taught at the same time, the cost was thirty dollars for each hour.

The instructor was great. He has competed in dance competitions nation wide. Beyond knowing what to do he was able to communicate that knowledge to me. I honestly didn't think anyone could teach me how to dance. But, his teaching style and excellent encouragement was able to lighten my feet and help me find my rhythm.

Everyone dances differently so find an instructor that shares your style. Secondly, be sure your instructor is a qualified teacher and not just a talented dancer. I've seen a lot of great dancers who, when asked about a particular move, can not tell you how they do it. The simply say, "I don't really know, I just do it."
