Description of service
I paid 50.00 for a 5 week class in swing dance through a local community center. The class was one hour long and was on a Tuesday evening. The class included one hour of instruction and a one hour dance party/practice session afterwards, refreshments were included. They served water, soda, tea and some cookies.
Review of Service
It was pretty crowded, with lots of students from the local college. The community center is large so there was plenty of room but not a lot of individual attention. The instructors seemed very knowledgeable and helpful but there were just to many people in the class. They did make sure everyone was paired up with a partner before the class started and they did bring in a few assistants by class three, so that helped. They had a very good teaching style, they made the class enjoyable and easy to understand. They started with very basic moves and advanced fast, but not too fast. We really covered a lot of moves, I learned a lot. The air conditioner at the community center was not working, it was very hot in class.
Tips
Check out the class size and find out if there is a limit to the number of students. Ask if you need to bring a partner. Find out if they provide refreshments, if not, bring water or something else to drink. Wear comfortable shoes and dress in loose clothes.
