the Price of Swing Dance Lessons

My husband and I went with another couple to a local dance studio for a small groups swing dance lesson. We gave our money and we had an hour and a half to learn some moves then practice them. We had live music on the piano which was a nice touch. That plus dinner made a wonderful date night.There were no gratuities and we didn't need supplies.

I had a great time with my husband. We hadn't been dancing in a long time and our instructor was sympathetic to that! She took her time teaching us and we were not as bad as I thought we would be. Our instructor's patience was good and we really enjoyed the lesson because we left feeling confident, not like we were people with two left feet. I wish we had had a bit more time to free-dance at the end of the instruction period because we were eager to practice more of what we had learned.

Wear comfortable shoes! We were practicing on wood floors, and if you are a woman, spike heels would be very uncomfortable. Ladies should also wear longer skirt--they added to the fun of the lesson. Getting a few couples together saved us money on our lesson so I would recommend organizing a small group rather than doing a more expensive private lesson.
