Description of service
I took an 8 week cake decorating class at a local culinary school. The cost of these 8 1 hour classes was $1200.
Review of Service
I'd gotten really interested in becoming a pastry chef and was considering taking the plunge. I decided before I committed to a full 3 year program I should take one class and see how it went.
I wanted a top of the line class with a very experienced teacher and was willing to pay for it. While the class was expensive I definitely felt I got my moneys worth.
The teacher was a professional pastry chef with over 20 years of experience. The classes were very serious, there was not a lot of goofing off. It was about 30% instruction and 70% hands on, which was great.
When I got out of the class I really felt that I'd learned a lot and it only furthered my interested in becoming a pastry chef on my own.
Tips
If you are serious about learning the art of cake decorating, you should be willing to pay top dollar as it's a very competitive field and a lot of people are interested in getting their foot in the door and learning about it.
