Description of service
In March of 2009 I decided to have extensions placed in my hair, as I have very thick hair this was an extensive procedure, and expensive, however I feel that it was well worth every penny of it and all the time I spent in the salon.
Review of Service
My first appointment involved matching my hair color to that of the available natural hair extensions, this was in fact the shorter of the appointments. Once my extensions came in the salon called me for the second appointment. I am very lucky that my stylist is also a friend. My second appointment took most of the day, as I said I have very thick hair. I arrived at the salon and took my seat in between extensions my stylist did work on other clients, as I did not want to take her entire day and I had the time. She applied the extensions with a heating iron, similar to that of a straightening iron.
I had to go back one last time for some spots that were not thick enough. But in the end I was very happy with the results. My short hair was now long, to the middle of my back.
Tips
Plan to spend a good bit of time at the salon on the day of application, bring along books, your lap top and money for lunch. It is a long process and you will be sitting for extended periods of time. When you get the chance walk around, take a break from sitting. If you can do the applications in two appointments. Once the extensions are in give yourself two weeks before you make any decisions as to if you need additional hair placed in.
