the Cost of Online Tax Filing

I recently completed my taxes through a online service. It was a free service to prepare and I only had to pay for the filing fees. It was very easy to understand, making links to the FAQ section of the site if you don't know the IRS's terms or what you should put down. It made is easy to fill out, the instructions are very detailed, but yet easy to comprehend. I know I use to have an accountant prepare and do mine every year unitll this year. I never know what he was saying half the time when he was talking in his own "lingo." It took me a little over an hour to do it online. I am always double checking to make sure everything was right and when I started on the itemized deductions I had to be extra careful to get everything correct. From start to finish I couldn't believe how simple it was to do own my own, and felt like a fool for having my accountant do them for the past 8 years! Having my accountant do them usually costed right around $150.00 depending on the number of deductions and his mood. This year after paying the small filing fees it was about 15% of that. I was in shock. I was able to print everything off for my records, and I was also able to put it on a dvd to keep for electronic records. I am going to use this program or others like it from now own, the savings is to much to pass on.

Very clear and detailed, the price was very reasonable, and the options/features where great! I would suggest this type of service to anybody who is using CPA's for your taxes.

Keep both paper and electronic records. Make sure all of your entrys are correct, double or even tripple check them.
