I needed a web hosting provider for my personal web site. Upon searching online, I saw this San Diego-based web hosting company. They have various plans available but they also have a free one. I signed up with them under the free plan.
Review of Service
I signed up with a San Diego-based web hosting company. I tried their free web host Linux-based web hosting since my website is just a personal website (but they do offer paid plans).
The service was GREAT! Even though I was on a free plan, the technical support via phone they provided for me was just awesome (I had some trouble with the FTP) and the issue was resolved quickly!
The free plan is also generous. it has 250 MB web space, PHP 5, mySQL 4, sendmail / SMTP enabled, 2 GB bandwidth allocation per month, and cPanel GUI.
Tips
Oftentimes, the difference between a paid hosting and a free one is the level of support the web host provides. Look for a one that will surely help you resolve your technical issues.
Even though I had some issue regarding FTP, it was quickly resolved through the help of their very prompt technical support! What a nice company!
