Description of service
I switched from a free web hosting to a paid one since one of my sites required a Windows based hosting because it is coded in ASP.NET 2.0. Most of the free hosts are just Linux based or only runs PHP and mySQL combination.
I chose to sign up with the Internet company based on Scottsdale, AZ. I signed up with their basic economy plan for $4.29 per month (with minimum signup / contract period of 2 months).
Review of Service
For this plan, it is not so basic at all! I mean there's a disk space of 1O GB, monthly data transfer of 300 GB, 1 FTP account, up to 500 email addresses (with mail quota of 1O MB per user), MS Access database, 1x200 MB MS SQL database, and language support for ASP.NET v1.0/2.0, ASP.NET AJAX, classic ASP, as well as Frontpage Server Extensions.
There's also some free Add-On Apps like DotNetNuke 4.0 but I never used those.
Also, since this is a paid plan, there's no advertisements in the web pages served.
Tips
One thing really important in web hosting is the aftersales customer support. Having a 24/7 hotline is a must. The technical support people must also be knowledgeable of what they are doing. Luckily, the web host I signed up with is also excellent in that area.
Another thing that people should be looking for in a web hosting provider is their uptime / reliability. Downtime should be minimal! In my three months of web hosting with this company, my webmaster tools indicate, so far, 0 minutes downtime (100% uptime). That's just great for a web host!
Bottomline is people should look for a web host which is not only inexpensive but also is reliable.
