Description of service
The pick up of household goods (a 1 bedroom apartment with not too much big furniture), and the transfer to a storage facility. $90 was for the rental of the truck (they provided) and $50 an hour was for the labor involved (2 men were provided). My whole move took a little less than 2 hours. A two hour minimum was required for the company I contracted. I tipped the men $10 dollars each, they did not seem to pleased with that.
Review of Service
I received excellent service, although the movers were in no hurry to get the job done. The men provided definitely knew what they were doing, loading heavier thing towards the front of the truck, and wrapping my dresser with plastic wrap to prevent the drawers from sliding out, etc. This worked out to be an excellent value all around, since I did not have to hassle with renting a truck or finding friends to help me, and the job was done in less than half a day.
Tips
Have everything prepared in advance of the movers arrival. The men are paid by the hour and will be more than happy to sit around and watch you get ready. As much as possible should be boxed up, easier to move and less chance of breakage. Also make sure things are prepared at the other end of the move, I could not get into the storage facility right away, I lost time trying to find the manager in order to access my unit.
