the Cost of Local Movers

I had professional movers come in and move across town several pieces of furniture. The payment was all to the company, no gratuities, no materials.

When I moved, i had one piece of furniture that was beyond my husband and I's ability to lift. A 7 foot long dresser that needed to go from the second story of my house to a basement across town for storage. I decided that since I wasn't moving that, I could have them get a few more pieces of furniture too. They charged by the hour so I gave them an estimate of how long it would take to get the stuff packed and unpacked. Two men showed up with moving pads, dollies etc. The majority of the furniture was easy to move, but the dresser, even without the drawers was very difficult. They worked hard and got it done. I was pleased with their professionalism. I thought it was a good price, but then again, I had to hire someone and these people were the only ones available when I needed them.

Know what you want and how long it will take when you call to get estimates. On that note, call to get estimates. I asked a bunch of people who they would recommend, and I chose on of them, because I was worried about scammers.
