I had my highlights done last by a fairly large salon for $80. This included a shampoo, of course, but no other dying of the rest of the hair. I chose to have my highlights done in very large chunks, so there were a total of 6 highlights.
Review of Service
I was absolutely impressed with my hair afterward. I have never loved my hair more than I do right now and even though $80 is a splurge, it is worth it to make yourself feel as good as you can, and looking good is part of feeling good. And it is fun to go to the salon and let yourself be pampered! I really had a great time as I had just paid to have my hair cut and they didn't really do anything (at another place), but the highlights made it seem like I had completely different hair.
Tips
Eighty dollars can be a lot for some people, so do what I did and use it a reward for something good you've done lately. Make a goal to lose five pounds and then reward yourself with a new hairstyle, some fun highlights that make you feel sexy and flirty. Other than that, just make sure you feel comfortable with your beautician- they will be changing your appearance after all.
