Description of service
I got my hair permanently straightened at a salon in town. I was told it was the Japanese straightening that they did and that it would be straight but that the hair that grew it would be curly again. It only stays straight for a couple of months. They said that the chemicals wouldn't damage my hair. Also my hair was not dyed or highlighted and they said this was important so that my hair wasn't already damaged.
Review of Service
The process was very lengthy and the results were short-lived because your new hair will obviously come back just as curly as it was. It was easier to manage my hair but it wasn't perfectly straight either. It went from curly to a little wavy. Also it really does damage your hair, maybe not at first but eventually your hair will look and feel really dry from the long-term chemicals in there. I thought my hair would be straighter and I wouldn't have to fuss with it as much but that was not the case at all. I still had to flat iron it afterwards and it ended up really damaged.
Tips
I would reccomend not getting it done. The results aren't really long lasting if you have curly hair. If your hair is wavy maybe it is a good idea. Instead just but a good ceramic flat iron.
