Description of service

I went to the emergency room of a local cooperative HMO that has a reciprocity agreement with my health care provider in Southern California.

I was seen for free (a better price than my hospital at home), and my meds were $19.

Review of Service

The service was amazing. It was by far the best hospital experience I've ever had. The building was pleasant--no icky hospital smells or starkness. I waited less than 30 minutes on a weekend. Both the triage nurse and the MD were knowledgeable, friendly, and very very good at patient care.

Tips

Knowing what your options are when you need healthcare away from home is really important. Before you leave on a trip, make sure you (and your companions) know what procedure to follow, if you need medical attention away from your regular provider.
