Description of service
$55 monthly covers the lowest tier of satellite internet access available. Although it is the lowest tier, the service is lightening fast compared to dial up internet access, and even the lowest tier accommodates 2 computers with ease. While they do have "fair use" policies in place, restricting bandwidth activity per person, it has never been a problem with our household, even with the kids playing online games on one computer and the other computer being used for random surfing.
Review of Service
If you're hesitent to ditch dial up, just do it! In all honesty, we ditched our landland phone and dial up internet for satellite internet. Since we already had cell phones that we used to make the a majority of our phone calls, we didn't miss a thing. This has actually worked out to be a little cheaper for us. Not by much, but every penny counts. We're now able to do so much more on the internet, it's just unbelievable!
Tips
Thoroughly research your satellite internet companies. There are pros and cons to each, but it's up to you to decide what is a pro and what is a con. What one person may see negatively, you may see as a non-issue or even positively.
