Description of service
When my two year anniversary rolled around my husband and I decided to get into marriage counseling. We weren't having any major problems but since we married young (I was 19 and he was 21) we decided we could probably try to divorce proof our marriage and find ways to get even closer.
Review of Service
It kind of seems scary at first. The thought of going into a strangers office and just spilling your guts. The relationship you have with your spouse is probably your strongest and closest relationship so going in there and "bashing" the other person feels like you're betraying them in a way. Or at least that's what my perception of marriage counseling was. The place we go to isn't quite like that though. Each session we talk about something that we love about each other and then we bring up an issue that we want to work on. The assignment until your next session is to try to work on that issue. I'm learning so much, about how to make my marriage better, and I'm learning a lot about myself in the process.
Tips
$75 dollars a session may seem a lot to some people. But if you can spare the extra money, even if you can only go once a month, it will be completely worth your time. Every relationship can use improving as well as everybody.
