Description of service
The doggie daycare is located in a large warehouse type of building and accepts dogs in the early morning and will keep them until 5:30 p.m. for a flat rate of $30 per day. I dropped off my dog about 8:00 a.m. and picked him up at 5:10 p.m. During the day, they provide each dog with its own large crate where the dog can go to relax and have some quiet time, and there is a large play area in the center of the room with toys and also a separate area for small dogs. There is a fenced grassy yard in the back where dogs can run a little and where they can go to the bathroom. There are no formal activities, but there are always two handlers in the main room at all times and dogs are never out of sight of one of the employees.
Review of Service
My dog really enjoys going to the daycare facility and I take him there about once per week, depending on my work schedule and if he seems like he needs to get out of the house for a while. I looked at several daycare centers before choosing this one based on the owner seeming to really care about dogs and their health and the environment. All of the areas I mentioned are very clean every time I go there, even at the end of the day, and they limit the number of dogs that can attend each day to a manageable number. I also like that my dog has a crate to go to for some downtime and sleep, but I think he generally plays so much that he is exhausted when he comes home at night. I think the price is very good to know that my dog is well cared for and is having fun at a mini-vacation.
Tips
Go inside and look all around the entire facility. A place may look clean in the area that is most visible to the public, but you need to see the crates, the yard, and any area that your dog might be. Also pay attention to the attitude of the workers and the owner - you can get a good sense of whether they really care about dogs or if it's just a business to them.
