Description of service
The price is for one month of weekday, work-hours dog daycare service at a local woman's house. For the price she feeds and waters the dog and lets her play with other dogs, and keeps them from fighting. She'll also contact us and take the dog to the vet if there's an emergency. Extended care for when you're on business trips andLarger dogs cost more than smaller dogs, mostly because they eat more.
Review of Service
The woman who takes care of the dogs is in her 60s and started the business after her husband died a few years ago as a way to keep up on expenses. She has since expanded into the house next to hers, which was demolished to extend her property to a full acre of space, most of which is used to let the dogs play. Various areas are set up for dogs of different sizes, so smaller dogs don't get roughed up by larger dogs. And similarly there is a special area for un-spayed females.
Our dog loves it and can't wait for her day long playtime that she gets first thing in the morning when we leave for work. And though she never is unwilling to leave with us at the end of the day, she's always a tired puppy. Still, she always has plenty of energy to play on weekends, and always seems comfortable around strange people and dogs, which she had a touch of a problem with before she went into daycare. The extra socialization is quite a bonus.
Tips
Find someone who has thought out the process of taking care of the dogs and knows which dogs to separate and when, and when they are separated, how to keep them entertained and busy even if they're not with the other dogs. This is far better than just stuffing all the dogs in a yard with a few bowls of food and water.
