Description of service
This service included an oil filter, new oil, a new crush washer, and the labor to install these items. It's usually advised to have it done at least once every 7500 miles in the owner's manual, but I prefer to have it done around 5,000 miles. The parts cost was $60, leaving a labor charge of $30 for roughly 20 minutes of work.
Review of Service
I was quite pleased with the service I received. In addition to the oil change, it also turned out that my motorcycle had a busted voltage regulator; as a direct result they scheduled a replacement for me at a later date. What makes this even more appreciated is that they demonstrated the fault to me so I was fully aware it wasn't a problem they were inventing just to scam a few extra dollars out of a customer.
Tips
Having this done professionally is always appreciated; not only do they have the correct tools and expertise to do it in less than half the time of doing it yourself, but it's safer this way! After all, there are few things more destructive than having the oil nut fall out of the bike while riding down the road! It's also well worth the time to ensure that you're getting the work done by someone you trust.
