We are a retail store that sells music CD's. We needed to hire someone to fill in for one of our employees that was going on maternity leave for 3 months so we needed someone to fill in her job without hiring a permanent employee. We normally paid our employees $7 per hour, but the temporary employee got $12 per hour.
Review of Service
The temp employee received $12 per hour. We did not offer any paid sick days, paid holidays, vacation, or any form of benefits at all. If the employee worked more than 40 hours, the employee received $18 per hour since its considered overtime. Having a temporary employee is a costly expense.
Tips
If your looking for a similar service, make sure you find the right employee. Even though they are only going to be there a short time, and on a temporary basis, you need to make sure they are going to be the right match for you. There are very expensive companies out there that will find an employee for you very easily, but they can cost thousands of dollars on top of the amount you need to pay the employee.
