Description of service
I paid $15 for a prepaid phone and $30 for 60 minute prepaid card. This is the most basic phone and as far as the minutes, they also cover text messeging at .3 minutes per text sent. Incoming texts are free.
Review of Service
I never had any problems with dropped calls or not having service in any particular area, so I would say the overal service is good. My phone on the other hand was a constant hassle. When you purchase minutes you are suppossed to be able to add them either online, on your phone, or by calling customer service. I never could add them on my phone due to my phone not accepting updates. Customer service would always walk me through the updates and say it was confirmed on their screen, yet as soon as I would hang up my updates were gone along with any functionability beyond sending and receiving calls or texts. So I would use their website or customer service to add minutes which would take over 24 hours to add to my phone. Sometimes leaving me with no usable phone. To me the whole point of prepay was convenience but it was anything but convenient.
Tips
I have since gone with a prepaid monthly service which is so much easier. I don't have to refill my minutes, it is done automatically every month yet still don't have the burdon of a contract. Make sure you look into both types of service before purchasing. In my opinion the prepay is only good if you hardly ever use your phone since the minutes are so expensive.
