I elected to have Lasik surgery on both of my eyes to try and reduce the need for glasses or contacts. The price was $1200 per eye.
Review of Service
I'm happy that I elected to have the surgery, my quality of life after the laser vision correction is a lot better than I had expected. I wanted the surgery because I didn't like wearing my glasses when going out. Now I don't have to worry about breaking my glasses. I also like being able to wear regular sunglasses when it's nice out, instead of paying to get prescription ones. I like being able to wake up every morning and being able to see the alarm clock. I was always concerned that in an emergency situation I wouldn't be able to find my glasses and would be unable to help my loved ones or even myself.
Tips
Your choice of a doctor should not be based on the cost or the location. You should ask friend, family, and even co-workers. A good surgeon has a solid reputation in the community. Someone whose ad you've noticed in a magazine may not be reputable. Find the surgeon who is right for you based on your own research and concerns. Find an experienced, qualified doctor with whom you're comfortable and you can be confident about your surgery.
