Description of service
My dad had LASIK performed on both of his eyes last November. He did not have them both done at once, but the $2500 included both operations and all follow up appointments. There are many financing options available for LASIK surgery and, in my dad's case, it was eligible under his flexible spending account through his employer.
Review of Service
The service was reasonably quick. The doctor was a bit gruff in his orders of what to and not to do for the next several days, but I believe that is so people will pay attention and avoid any unnecessary complications. My dad had to keep his eyes closed or hidden behind special dark lenses for the rest of the day and was advised to avoid strenuous activities for the next 7 days. He also had to be especially diligent in avoiding dust and sweat for a while, as all of these things would irritate the eye he'd just had surgery on.
Tips
You MUST have someone accompany you to the surgery. You are advised not to even open your eyes unless you have to. If you're an avid reader you should invest in some books on tape or CD, because you cannot read for quite a while. Expect boredom to invade you while you're recovering, especially the first few days.
