Description of service
I went with my husband to the facility in San Marcos. Since we haven't ever jumped before we are not qualified to do solo jumps yet, which was fine with me because I wanted an instructor with me at all times! The instructors work with each person to go over safety instructions and exact play by play of what will happen. You then load into the small plane and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the right altitude. At this point the instructor harnesses him/herself to you and you jump from the plane!
$189 will pay for a tandem skydive and one-on-one safety instructions and details about what will happen from an instructor. You can buy a dvd of your jump for an additional $99.
Review of Service
It feels like you are falling for much longer than it really is but you are really only free-falling for about a minute before the parachute is pulled. It then takes a few more minutes before you reach the ground.
It was fun but terrifying!
Tips
I'm sure every place is different but I remember at the place I went to they will charge you if you weigh over a certain amount for something to do with the plane- my guess would be extra fuel. I think I also remember if you were over a certain age you had to have clearance from your doctor.
