the Cost of Skydiving

Last spring my brother and I thought it would be nice to skydive since we were both turning 30. We found a local sky diving school that offered an eight hour class, and a chance to jump out of a plane for $220 a piece. The hour class included lessons on how to sky dive, what to do when something goes wrong, and a practice chamber (a small room with a fan for a floor, like a wind tunnel).

The experience was wonderful. I was scared out of my mind, but once the parachute came out I calmed down. Even if I hadn't jumped, the class we took that day was really fun, especially the practice chamber. We didn't do the big jump, and I would have felt awkward doing the tandem jump so we went with the short fall. Afterward we got a video of the jump, along with a framed picture.

This was the thrill of my lifetime. I can't say I would go and do it again, but it was the biggest thrill I have ever had. I would suggest anyone wanting something different and exciting to try sky diving at least once. I know a lot of people wonder about the danger, but there are far worse things you can do.
