Description of service
I have a Vespa ET4 scooter with 150cc / 4-stroke engine. I change the oil after almost every 1000 miles. Although it is not too difficult to change oil yourself I prefer going to the service station as they would know which oil should be used and they can also evaluate the condition of the scooter much better than me. It costs me 5$ to change the oil in my scooter. They also give you advice on what other parts needs to changed or repaired. The complete process takes around 10 to 15 minutes.
Review of Service
Although oil change doesn't involve too many complexities, it is always best to let the professionals do the job. The people at the service station know which oil will work best with a 4 stroke engine. But sometimes you need to wait to get serviced and it can be quite annoying as it only requires 10 or 15 minutes to change oil. So if you don't like to wait then changing the oil by yourself is a better option for you.
Tips
Read the user manual of your scooter and see if it has recommended any particular oil to be used. You should let the people at the service station know about this. Try to change the oil after every 1000 miles, it keeps the engine running smoothly.
