We needed to have an existing cable outlet moved in our living room and a new cable outlet created in our bedroom.
Review of Service
The service was horrible. The cable tech showed up an hour early (not a big deal since we were home but what if we had not been there!) and was obviously in a hurry to do nothing. He immediately started talking about how we needed to have a custom plan done and we were like no we just want what we ordered. We told him where we wanted the new outlet in our bedroom placed and he did that without any complaints. We showed him where the old outlet in the living room was and where it needed to be moved. We explained, as we had when ordering the service, that he would need to go into our crawl space to do this. He immediately refused to do it saying he was too big to fit. He was not too big. He wanted to pull the line thru the front of the house by the door and I told him no. We want what we want. I called the cable company and told them of the attitude issues we were facing with the tech. She talked to him and she said she couldn't make him do it and we would need to reschedule. It was just a big hassle and headache. May have only cost us $29.95 but when you pay close to $160.00 a month for your cable service, its just insane.
Tips
Stand your ground with the cable techs and get what you want, even if you are unable to get it done that day. They try to bully you into doing what is easier for them and will take them the least time. They try to bully you into more expensive service. Do not let them. Stick to your guns and know what you want and do not be afraid to complain.
