Description of service
I paid 70$ to the tattoo artist to do a small "Jerry Bear" on my forearm. I ended up tipping him 5$ for the tattoo so the service was 75$ total.
Review of Service
The quality of the bear was good. When I left I was happy and followed all of the instruction to a T since my tattoo was visible. However, about 2 weeks after getting it, there was a huge scab still on the bears tummy. No matter how bad it was though, I did not scratch it. I put vasoline on it every day throughout the day. I kept it clean and out of sun light. When the scab finally fell off, it took the ink with it. So If you look at the bear today, he has a skin colored dot right under his collar. Other areas throughout the tattoo are faded as well or lost their color.
Tips
I would suggest calling around and word of mouth on how good a tattoo artist is. And make sure you are asking about the artist and not the shop. Everyone inks differently. If you find someone you really like, have looked at his work (most artists keep a portfolio) then you can set an appointment to get a tattoo. That way you are comfortable and ok with your decision. Also, if you are wanting a specific or intricate tattoo, normally the artist will work with you and let you see how it will look before he actually inks you.
