Description of service
I broke my nose in a cheerleading accident and thankfully I found a great doctor to help fix the issue. Although $3000 was costly for me at the time (I was a recent high school graduate) I was able to pay in installments, and suddenly the cost seemed much more reasonable and something I felt like I could handle over time. The surgery was very important to me ( I had a bump in the middle that had no signs of dissapearing) and I did not want cost to be the one thing that was stopping me from getting this much needed surgery. I am not sure how the money was split up (concering taxes, or materials) but I think it was money well spent and a pretty average price for such services. I have been back a few times to get my last few adjustments. The doctor ended up taking cartiledge from the back of my ear to fix the few spots in my nose. I had some stiches in my ear, but they were tucked behind my hair and barely noticeable. The healing process took almost a month, and it was at some times very painful and a bit of a nuisance.
Review of Service
I think my surgery was very much worth the money paid. I was in great care and got exactly what I was looking for. I also got the oppurtunity to go back and get my last few adjustments for no cost. I did not feel like my surgery was rushed, and I got every bit of attention from my doctor. He also gave me a quick informative lesson on other cosmetic surgeries he offers, and what benefits they ensue. Those extra services do not always come free, which was a really nice extra incentive. The only thing I did not think was fair in the price I paid was that I was not given a lot of prep time, where the doctor explained the surgery to me in full. I would have liked to know more details of exactly what they were doing, and what some of the side effects could have been. I did not hear much of any negative side effects, but I think I would have liked to be warned about any and all possibilities of something going wrong. All in all, I would say that if you are unhappy with something on your body cosmetic surgery is somewhat reasonably priced and can really change your life.
Tips
The most important thing to rememeber while looking into cosmetic surgery is read reviews, and talk to people. This type of surgery can go terribly wrong and can be a brutal situation to try and fix. Do not just go to any old doctor that claims he does well, and he is cheap. Sometimes the extra money is worth it so you know that you are getting quality services done. This is absolutely not something you should joke around about, or take lightly. Before going to my cosmetic surgeon I asked around to people I knew had nose jobs, and found out who they recommended and why. Once I got their recommendations I researched that specific doctor on the web, and in medical journals. After doing that, I scheduled an appointment to meet with him and see if we could click in a doctor patient relationship. If at any time you feel unsure, or feel like a particular doctor is not the one for you, find someone else. Make sure to shop around. Rushing this type of thing is not worth the consequences. Also, make sure to ask about the office's payment plan. Sometimes you need to pay upfront, and if you can't afford that you will need to find another option.
