Description of service
The service included a cable Internet connection only - no cable TV - not even basic cable, no VOIP, nothing but the Internet connection.
Review of Service
We've been pretty satisfied with the service we've received on the whole, but it has not been without its disappointments. For example, we have had a couple outages over three days in length, and have not had our bill adjusted to compensate. Also, the speed has been unremarkable at best. We've never even approached the advertised speeds - but then, does anyone expect that at this point in the Internet game? Speaking of games, I'm not a gamer, so I can't speak to the effectiveness for that purpose; I doubt that my hardware could handle most high-bandwidth games. Speed has been sufficient for my needs, which include basic surfing, e-mail, and the use of my online office application suite provided by a major Internet search company. The attentiveness of service personnel has been less than stellar, but that's about par for the course these days.
Tips
I can't offer many tips on how one could do better - I've looked for other options, and the regulatory market is such that there's little competition without settling for DSL or dialup. However, when I was a university student for several semesters recently, I was able to get the same service for approximately a third the price. You could do worse than that deal!
