the Hourly Price of Baby Sitters

We have a sitter who comes to our home on weekends on an as-needed basis to care for two children. The duties include all aspects of childcare including baths and meals. We provide all food and even provide special meals for the sitter if requested. The sitter usually only works for us between two and four days a month. Part of the service is cleaning up any messes that are made during the time of the service but no other housework. This sitter is willing to travel with us as well so that we have help on vacations and long trips. We renegotiate the price according to the expectations on each trip and the disruption of her life to be able to go.

The service has been great. The sitter is very consistent. She is always available when she said should would be. The kids love her and each time she has been here she has complete a "project" with our four-year-old and that makes him feel very special and grown up. I love it because I can leave the house without the kids crying and yelling, they are engaged and happy from the minute that she arrives.

I pay our sitter above the going local rate because the frequency of our need is lower and this insures that she will make us a priority.
