Description of service
We paid $50 a week for after school care. This was at a community center with a sliding scale for folks with lower incomes.
Review of Service
We don't have a ton of money and were having trouble finding a cheap yet safe and nurturing after school daycare. After talking to our child's teacher we got some information on different options. One was a sliding scale that cost $50.00. We checked it out and it seemed nice. Our son went there and it's worked out great. He has met a lot of friends there. They do projects with them and have high school volunteers come in to help them with their homework. I've been very pleased with everything except one thing. They have extremely strict rules about picking up your children on time. Twice now extraordinary events have happened and I've been late. They charge an extra $20 if you are more than 15 minutes late. This is a ton of money to us but it definitely does the job of dissuading us from being late.
Tips
Check into low cost options like these. Just because they are low cost does not meant that they necessarily won't do a good job. Be sure to know the cost of the late fee and avoid them at all costs!
