Description of service
My holiday present to myself was to get my teeth whitened to improve my smile, and I did some research and decided to go with the two-part method that uses dental trays over a 60-day period and then applies light to create an even color. The cost of $460 included the molds of my upper and lower teeth and a two-month supply of gel to fill the molds, as well as the session where the light was applied.
Review of Service
The treatment was not as successful as I hoped, but it did improve the whiteness of my teeth by several shades on the color chart. The facility did a good job explaining the whitening options so that I could make the right choice of treatment, and the cost of the service was reasonable and close to what I expected. The molds and gel did not seem to have the effect that I expected, and it was somewhat inconvenient to use them every day, but the light treatment did help the most and made a real difference.
Tips
My tip is to make sure that you understand that the whitening results seen in commercials and brochures are not the results that most people get from the treatment. The benefit of the whitening methods depends on the types of stains on your teeth, as well as the natural color of your teeth, and some people just don't have bright white smiles. Don't have expectations that are too high, and make sure that if you choose the option that requires use of daily molds that you can be consistent in using them.
